Performance
Whether
you go deep into the wilderness or down a crowded street in Minneapolis, the
Land Rover Defender can get you there. This midsize luxury SUV has incredible
off-road capability, with standard four-wheel drive and a terrain response
system that lets you go nearly anywhere in it. Despite its off-road
inclinations, the Defender also delivers a comfortable ride on paved highways.
The new Defender comes with a choice of two engines:
- Standard: Turbocharged 296-horsepower four-cylinder motor
- Optional:
Turbocharged 395-horsepower six-cylinder engine
Both motors are
mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Defender can wade through
up to 35.4 inches of water and its adaptive suspension allows for up to 11.5
inches of ground clearance.
